About Beta Features

What it is

Beta features are advanced, in-development features that work but may have edge cases. They're labeled with badges (BETA, EXPERIMENTAL, ADVANCED, PRO) and require first-time acknowledgment.

How to think about it

haythix ships features fast. Beta labels are how we balance shipping speed with user protection.

Step-by-step

  1. Identify beta features

Look for badges: BETA (amber, standard beta), EXPERIMENTAL (red, higher risk), ADVANCED (purple, requires expertise), PRO (purple, Pro+ tier feature).

  2. First-time disclaimer

When you first visit a beta feature page, a modal appears explaining the limitations, scrollable to bottom requirement before proceeding. Must acknowledge once per feature.

  3. Persistent banner

After acknowledgment, a small disclaimer banner appears at the top of the feature page. Dismissible per session.

  4. Submit feedback

Floating purple feedback button on every beta page. Rate 1-5 stars + free-text comment. Active feedback contributors get early access to new betas.

Tips & pitfalls

  • Beta features are real and functional — not previews. They're labeled because they may have unexpected edge cases.
  • Feedback is the fastest way to influence which features graduate from beta to general availability.
  • EXPERIMENTAL features (red badge) require an additional risk acknowledgment checkbox — only use these if you understand the strategy.
