What it is
Branded PDF reports generated server-side from the same ledger Risk Overview reads. 4 templates: Monthly P&L, Quarterly Performance, Year-End Tax Summary, and Custom Date Range. Picks the period, click Generate, get a PDF auto-downloaded to your browser within seconds. History tab stores every PDF you've generated for re-download or deletion. 12-year history range — covers your full crypto trading history back to ~2015.
How to think about it
For traders who need clean, branded documentation — for tax filing, fund LPs, lender qualifying, accountant handoffs, or year-end portfolio reviews. No spreadsheets, no copy-paste, no manual formatting. The same fills that drive your Risk Overview and Strategy Heatmap drive these PDFs — so the numbers reconcile automatically. Reports include a disclosures block (data source + freshness + methodology) so the receiver can audit your numbers.
Step-by-step
-
Pick a template
Monthly P&L = one calendar month of fills + realized P&L + win/loss breakdown. Quarterly = 3-month rollup with monthly sub-totals. Year-End Tax = 12-month tax-year summary with realized gains/losses broken into short-term and long-term. Custom Range = any start/end date pair (useful for tax-year proration when your tax year is non-calendar, or for fund-LP reporting cycles).
-
Set the period
Monthly = pick month + year. Quarterly = pick quarter + year. Year-end Tax = pick tax year. Custom = pick start + end dates. Year dropdown covers current year back to ~2015 — every crypto trader's full history fits.
-
Click Generate
Backend builds the PDF in 1-5 seconds. The reports engine reads the SAME ledger Risk Overview reads — your dashboard numbers will reconcile exactly to the PDF numbers. PDF auto-downloads to your browser when ready.
-
Read the success banner
Shows reportId, file size, and generation elapsed time. The file is also stored server-side — even if your browser download fails, you can re-download from the History tab.
-
Re-download or delete from History
History tab shows every PDF you have ever generated with timestamp, template, size, and download/delete actions. Re-download is FREE and instant — no regeneration needed. Delete removes the PDF from your archive (the underlying ledger data is unaffected).
-
Hand off to your CPA / LP / lender
The PDF includes a methodology disclosures block at the end — data source (your connected exchanges), data freshness (when the ledger was last refreshed), and the calculation methodology. Receivers can audit your numbers without needing access to your exchange account.
Tips & pitfalls
- Reports reconcile with Risk Overview because they read the same ledger. If your Risk Overview shows -$5,250 realized P&L for Q1, your Q1 PDF will show -$5,250 too. This is the canonical truth — both numbers come from the same source-of-truth lot table.
- Year-End Tax template + Tax Report (Intelligence menu) together = your full filing package. Year-End Tax PDF gives the high-level narrative; Tax Report CSV gives the per-lot 8949 line items. CPA-friendly handoff.
- Custom Range is the right template for unusual cycles — fund LPs that report on April-to-March fiscal years, lender qualifying that needs trailing-12-months as of a specific date, etc.
- Empty PDF on a year with no trades = correct behavior, not a bug. The disclosure block says "0 fills in this period" — receivers know the report ran cleanly and your account was simply inactive.
- Re-download is free and instant. Generate once, share the same reportId-named PDF with multiple stakeholders. No need to regenerate the same period.
- Generation time on 12-month tax reports with high trade volume can hit 30+ seconds. Be patient — the PDF is being computed from thousands of fills with FIFO/LIFO lot accounting. If it fails, check that your connected exchange API keys are not expired.
- PDFs include haythix branding by default. There is no white-label option yet — if your fund needs un-branded reports for LP distribution, generate the PDF then re-export via your own template tool.
- Delete is irreversible. Once you delete a PDF from history, you must regenerate it from the source ledger. Source ledger is preserved — only the PDF artifact is removed.
