Smart Trade Terminal

What it is
Smart Trade is a bracket-order terminal: ONE form lets you set an entry, up to 5 take-profit levels (each with its own price target + position size + optional trailing), and a stop-loss (with optional trailing + auto break-even). All three legs link as one logical position — when TPs fill, SL adjusts automatically; when SL fires, all pending TPs cancel. Real CCXT execution on your connected CEX. No simulation.
How to think about it
If CEX Trading is "place one order," Smart Trade is "place a whole strategy in one click." Use it whenever you have a thesis with clear entry, exit targets, and risk limit. Most professional retail traders use this page for ALL their manual trades — the discipline of pre-setting TPs and SLs is what separates survivors from blowups.
Step-by-step
-
Pick the right tab — Open Position vs Positions
Open Position = the order form (this is where you set everything up). Positions = your live + closed Smart Trades with per-trade detail panel, sync button, and close button. The form-side handles entry; the positions side handles management.
-
TradingView chart (top of form)
Live chart for the selected pair on the selected exchange, fullscreen button top-right. Use it to identify your entry level, TP levels, and SL level BEFORE filling the form. Cardinal rule: prices come from the chart, NOT from "what feels good."
-
Column 1 — Entry
Exchange selector → searchable pair dropdown → Long/Short toggle → Market/Limit toggle → Entry Price (if limit) → optional Trailing Buy (chases the dip / runs from the top) → Amount (base units) → Position Name (optional, defaults to "LONG BTC/USDT" style).
-
Trailing buy entry
Checkbox enables a smarter limit order: for Long, the order tracks the LOWEST price seen and fires a market buy when price BOUNCES by the trigger %. For Short, tracks HIGHEST and fires market sell when price DROPS. Useful for "catch the dip without missing the bounce" entries.
-
Column 2 — Take-Profit Ladder
Up to 5 TP levels. Each row: Price (% from entry) + Size (% of position) + optional Trailing TP. Default 3-rung ladder: 25% at +2% / 35% at +5% / 40% at +10%. Sizes MUST sum to exactly 100% before you can submit. Trailing TP lets winners run — instead of exiting at the target, the position trails X% from the new peak.
-
Column 3 — Stop-Loss
SL distance (% from entry). Optional Trailing SL (ratchets up as price moves in your favor, never down). "Move SL to break-even after first TP fills" auto-promotes your stop to entry price the moment any TP hits — turning the rest of the position into a "free trade" you can't lose money on.
-
Total size indicator (bottom of TP column)
Green ✓ when TP sizes sum to exactly 100%. Amber ⚠ otherwise. Submit button is disabled until valid — you can't accidentally submit a half-configured ladder.
-
Submit + monitor in Positions tab
Click Open Smart Trade. The order(s) go via CCXT to the exchange. Page switches to Positions tab automatically. The detail panel shows fill prices, current P&L, which TPs filled, current SL position, and a Close button. Polls every 5 seconds while you watch.
-
Per-position management
Each position has: Sync (force re-fetch from exchange in case of drift), Close (cancel all open orders + market exit), and a stats panel with realized/unrealized P&L. The Drift Banner appears if exchange-side balance disagrees with platform-side tracking.
-
Filter tabs — Active / Closed / All
Defaults to Active so today's work is the focus. Closed tab archives historical positions; All combines both. Active includes "pending_entry" and "pending_trailing_entry" states so trailing-buy orders are visible.
Tips & pitfalls
- Default ladder (25/35/40 at 2/5/10%) is a good starting point but NOT optimal for every trade. Tight ranges → tighter spacing (1/2/4%). Trending breakouts → wider spacing (5/10/20%). Set the chart targets FIRST, then convert to %.
- Trailing TP on the LAST rung only is a classic pattern — first 2-3 rungs lock in profit at fixed targets, the last rung lets the remaining 30-40% ride the trend without leaving moonshot money on the table.
- Always check "Move SL to break-even after first TP fills." This single feature turns a normal Smart Trade into a structurally risk-free trade after just one partial fill. Costs nothing, saves everything.
- Trailing buy works best for buying dips during volatility. Set anchor at recent support, trigger 1-2% retrace. If price falls and then bounces, you get filled near the local bottom. If it never bounces, you don't buy — better than catching falling knives.
- Position Name field is searchable in the Positions tab. Use descriptive names: "ETH FOMC Long", "SOL Breakout 3rd Attempt", "BTC Lunar Cycle Buy". Future-you trying to recall what trade #47 was will thank you.
- SL is a stop-MARKET order. In flash crashes, slippage may exceed the SL distance. For volatile assets, set SL slightly wider than your tolerance so a normal 2σ wick doesn't take you out.
- For pair selection, the exchange selector LIMITS the pairs you can trade. Binance ~2000 pairs. Coinbase ~600. Kraken ~500. Some pairs only exist on specific venues.
- The 5-rung TP cap is intentional — 6+ rungs add complexity without measurable improvement. Most pro setups use 3 rungs. Five is the absolute ceiling.
