Top Traders Leaderboard
7 min read
What it is
Public leaderboard of opt-in traders ranked across 5 categories: Return (30d ROI), Drawdown (lowest max DD), Sharpe (risk-adjusted return), Win Rate, and Volume. Computed from REAL CCXT trade history over a 30-day rolling window. Opt-in only — you must explicitly enable visibility to appear, and your real wallet identity stays private (only display name + metrics).
How to think about it
Different from Copy Trading. Copy Trading is for following a SPECIFIC BOT and mirroring its trades. Top Traders is a discovery layer — a leaderboard of HUMAN traders ranked across multiple dimensions. Tier badges (Trial / Starter / Trader / Pro / Elite) let you spot which traders are at scale. Top 3 in each category get podium positioning. The aggregate stats card shows the cohort-wide median for context.
Step-by-step
-
Open Top Traders + pick a category
Discover → Top Traders. 5 category tabs at the top: Return, Drawdown, Sharpe, Win Rate, Volume. The leaderboard changes ordering by category — Return ranks by highest 30d ROI; Drawdown ranks by LOWEST max DD (winners survived the deepest); Sharpe ranks by best risk-adjusted return; Win Rate ranks by % profitable trades; Volume ranks by total notional traded.
-
Read the podium (top 3)
Top 3 traders in the selected category get podium positioning at the top — gold/silver/bronze treatment. Each podium card shows: display name, tier badge, the ranking metric value, total trades, and follower count.
-
Scan the rest of the leaderboard
Positions 4-50 below the podium. Same metrics, list format. Click any trader to see their public profile + history. Trade count tells you statistical significance — a leader with 12 trades is luck; a leader with 500 trades is consistency.
-
Read the aggregate stats card
Aggregate stats show cohort-wide values: median ROI, median win rate, median max DD across all participants. Useful for contextualizing the top performers — if median ROI is +5% and #1 is +200%, that #1 number is exceptional, not typical.
-
Opt in to appear on the leaderboard
My Status panel on the right. Toggle Opt In + set Display Name. Once enabled, your aggregated trade stats appear on the leaderboard under your display name. Your wallet identity, exchange identity, and individual fills are NEVER exposed — only the public metrics.
-
Toggle opt-out at any time
Set Opt In to off. You disappear from the leaderboard within minutes. Your historical rankings are not retained — opt-out is a clean removal. You can re-opt-in later without losing access.
Tips & pitfalls
- Return ranks by raw 30d ROI — sounds attractive but ignores risk. A +200% return with -80% max drawdown is gambling, not trading. Always cross-check with the Drawdown category.
- Sharpe is the strongest filter for sustainable performance. Sharpe > 2.0 = excellent risk-adjusted return. Sharpe > 1.0 = solid. Below 0.5 = the trader is barely beating noise.
- 30-day window means rankings shift weekly. A trader at #1 today may not be #1 next week. Use the leaderboard as a discovery tool, not a follow-this-one buy signal.
- Tier badges (Trial / Starter / Trader / Pro / Elite) reflect subscription tier — they signal scale, not skill. An Elite tier trader with poor Sharpe is still poor; a Starter tier trader with excellent Sharpe is still excellent.
- Real CCXT data means rankings reflect actual exchange-confirmed fills, not paper-trading simulations. Backend pulls the trade history directly from connected exchanges — no fabricated metrics.
- Opt-in is intentional friction. We do not auto-enroll users in the leaderboard because some traders explicitly do not want public attention. Opt-in is a deliberate decision, opt-out is one click.
- For deeper analysis on a specific trader, click their profile from the leaderboard. Their public profile shows recent verified calls, paid channel (if any), and links to their Trust Card.
