getting-started

Create your first community channel in 5 minutes

From idea to launched channel with members joining

10 min · beginner

What you'll have when finished

  • Have one custom channel created
  • Know how to manage moderators + pinned messages
  • Understand which categories users can vs cannot pick

Before you start

  • Channel names are searchable — make them descriptive ("ETH-whales-watch" not "Bob's Channel")
  • 4 reserved categories (Official / Networks / Exchanges / Exclusive) cannot be picked by users — only haythix manages those
  • Deleting a channel is irreversible — all messages + member list lost

Walkthrough

  1. Open Discover Channels + browse for inspiration

Community → Discover Channels. Browse top 20 channels by Most Popular. Note which categories are well-represented (Trading, Signals, Analysis) and which have room (Education, Memecoins).

Success criteria: You have a channel idea + a target category

  2. Confirm your category is user-selectable

9 user-selectable: General / Trading / Signals / Analysis / Education / Memecoins (+ others). 4 reserved (Official / Networks / Exchanges / Exclusive) only apply to built-in rooms. If your idea fits a reserved category, pick the closest user-selectable one.

Success criteria: Your category is in the user-selectable list

  3. Click Create Channel + fill the form

    Name (max ~40 chars — describe the PURPOSE, not your name). Description (1-2 sentences explaining who should join). Icon (pick from 18 emojis: 💬 🎯 💡 🔥 💎 🏆 📈 🐂 🐻 🎮 🤖 🌍 ⚡ 🧠 🎵 🐸 🎓 📊). Category. Submit.

Success criteria: Channel created and appears in Discover

  4. Pin a welcome / rules message

Open your new channel. Send a welcome message: "Welcome to [channel name]. Purpose: [why you exist]. Rules: [1-3 simple rules]." Pin it via the message actions. New joiners see pinned messages in the channel header.

Success criteria: One pinned welcome message visible in your channel

  5. Add 1-2 moderators (optional)

If you trust 1-2 community members to help manage, assign them Mod role via channel settings. Mods can pin, delete bad messages, warn users. Mods cannot ban users (only owners can).

Success criteria: You have moderators OR consciously decided to solo-moderate

  6. Promote your channel in 1-2 related rooms

Post a brief message in 1-2 related Chat Rooms inviting users to join. DO NOT spam multiple rooms — that gets you flagged. One thoughtful invite in a relevant room outperforms 5 generic invites.

Success criteria: You have promoted in 1-2 relevant rooms

  7. Monitor My Channels stats panel weekly

Discover Channels page → top section shows your channels with member counts, top/least-popular. Use this weekly to spot which channel needs more attention vs which is thriving.

Success criteria: You check the stats panel as part of your weekly routine

What's next

Your channel is live. Habit: post 2-3 valuable messages per week to keep the channel active. Monetize via Paid Channels (if eligible — Pro+, 30 days, 50+ followers, Verified Caller) to convert engagement into USDC subscription revenue. Track earnings on My Channel Earnings page.
