Zero to your first successful trade in 15 minutes

Sign-up → exchange connected → Smart Trade live, end-to-end

15 min · beginner

What you'll have when finished

  • Verified haythix account with strong password + MFA
  • One CEX connected with safe, scope-limited API keys
  • First Smart Trade open with TPs and a stop-loss
  • Confidence to deploy your second bot without re-reading docs

Before you start

  • Start with $10-50 for your first trade — the goal is learning the flow, not P&L.
  • NEVER enable Withdrawal permission on the API key you give to haythix.
  • No trade has a guaranteed outcome. The bot enforces YOUR plan, but your plan can still be wrong.

Walkthrough

  1. Sign up and verify your email (60 seconds)

Open haythix.com → Sign Up. Enter email + 8+ char password. Pick a display name. Submit. Open your email and click the verification link. You're now signed in.

Success criteria: Email verified · Strong password set · (Recommended) Two-Factor enabled in Settings → Security

  2. Connect an exchange (5 minutes)

Pick whichever exchange you already trade on. Generate an API key on the exchange with READ + SPOT TRADING permissions. NEVER enable Withdrawal. Paste key + secret into Settings → Exchanges & RPC → Connect. haythix validates immediately — green dot = good.

Success criteria: Key has READ + SPOT TRADING only · Withdrawals DISABLED · IP whitelist set (if exchange supports it) · Connection shows green ✓ on the exchanges list

  3. Fund the exchange with $10-50 of USDC

Skip if you already have funds. Buy a small amount of USDC on the exchange — Coinbase has the lowest friction for first-time USD-to-crypto conversions. $20 is plenty for a first test trade.

Success criteria: USDC or USDT balance visible on the exchange · haythix Portfolio page reflects the balance (refresh after 60s)

  4. Open Smart Trade and pick a deep-liquidity pair

Open /smart-trade. Pick your exchange. Symbol: BTC/USDC or ETH/USDC — avoid memecoins for your first trade. Side: Long. Entry: Market. Amount: equivalent of $10-20.

Success criteria: Deep-liquidity major pair selected · Side = Long (spot) · Amount in USD equivalent of $10-20

  5. Add take-profit ladder + stop-loss BEFORE clicking Open

Start simple: 2 TPs. 50% of position at +3%, 50% at +6%. Stop-loss at -3%. Review the summary — entry price, expected fills, total risk in USD. Click Open Smart Trade.

Success criteria: At least 1 TP set · Stop-loss set (NEVER skip this) · Total risk (USD) reviewed and acceptable to lose

  6. Watch the bot work — and walk away

Your Smart Trade appears in the list with live state. The bot syncs every 60 seconds. You don't need to keep the tab open. Enable alerts in Settings → My Alerts to be notified when TPs fill or SL fires. Resist the urge to manually close in the first hour — let the plan play out.

Success criteria: Smart Trade appears in your list with status: open · TP orders visible on the exchange · SL is "armed" or placed on exchange · Email/Telegram alerts enabled

What's next

Three things to do regardless of P&L: 1. **Review what happened in the trade detail.** Did the TPs fill where you expected? Did the SL fire cleanly? This is the moment to learn what "real" bot behavior looks like. 2. **Check your tax export.** Settings → Tax Export → "Last 30 days". Your new trade should appear there. This proves the data pipeline works end-to-end. 3. **Decide what's next.** Liked the experience? Set up a [Grid Bot](/grid-bot) for ranging markets, or a [DCA Safety Bot](/dca-safety) for averaging into positions. Felt overwhelmed? Read [Smart Trade in depth](/help-center?article=getting_started_first_trade_complete_guide) and try another small one. The hardest trade you'll ever place on haythix is your first one. Every trade after this gets easier as the platform feels familiar.
