Bio + Twitter + avatar = 90% of the first-impression payoff

15 min · beginner

What you'll have when finished

  • Have a recognizable avatar + handle pattern
  • Have a specific bio that attracts the right followers
  • Know which badges are paid vs earned

Before you start

  • Stats are PUBLIC and cannot be edited — total transparency builds trust
  • Verified Caller status (60% / 20+ calls) is sticky, but reputation can erode if posting low-quality after
  • Linking real-world socials can dox pseudonymous accounts — only link if you accept that

Walkthrough

  1. Open My Profile

Community → My Profile. Read what is visible vs editable. Bio + Twitter + website + avatar = editable. Stats / streak / call accuracy / follow counts = system-computed.

Success criteria: You can name which 4 fields are editable

  2. Set a specific bio

Click Edit. Write a specific bio, not generic. BAD: "Trader since 2017". GOOD: "Day-trades BTC/ETH on Coinbase, posts setups in #signals, RSI mean-reversion focus." Specificity attracts the right followers.

Success criteria: Bio reads like a TLDR of what you actually do

  3. Decide on socials carefully

Twitter + website are PUBLIC. Anyone clicks. Linking your real Twitter to your community handle = your real identity. If you want pseudonymous, leave these BLANK. If you want public credibility, link them.

Success criteria: You have either linked socials consciously or left them blank consciously

  4. Set an avatar

Upload PNG/JPG OR rely on the deterministic gradient (same handle → same gradient). Uploaded avatars look more personal; gradient avatars look more pseudonymous. Pick based on the identity you want.

Success criteria: Avatar matches your identity choice

  5. Read the 4 visual badges (and how to earn each)

    🔵 Verified = email confirmed + 30 days active (passive earn). 🟢 Trusted Trader = 100+ trades + 60%+ win rate (skill-based). 🟡 Premium = Elite subscriber (paid). ⭐ Top Contributor = community-voted most helpful (peer-earned). 3 of 4 are earned; only 🟡 is paid.

Success criteria: You can articulate which badges are paid vs earned

  6. Check your stats baseline

Note your starting Total calls, Accuracy %, Followers, Streak. Snapshot the baseline so you can track progress over time. The whole point of stats is week-over-week improvement.

Success criteria: You have noted your current 4 baseline numbers somewhere

  7. Click another user's profile to see what others see

Open any chat room → click someone's name → their profile. Note: same layout as yours, minus edit controls. This is what OTHERS see when they click YOUR name. Use as a sanity check on your own setup.

Success criteria: You can name 1 thing on another user's profile that you want for your own

What's next

Your profile is set up. Habit: 30 days from now, re-check your stats against the baseline. If accuracy dropped, you need to call more carefully. If followers grew slowly, post more helpful analysis (not just calls). Pair with Achievements page to see what badges are closest to unlocking.
